As a Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2010, as well as a NASM-certified personal trainer at Gold’s Gym in Columbia, Mo, Kelli has had an extensive background in health and wellness. Kelli also holds a degree in Exercise Science from Truman State University. Kelli is the co-owner of The Fitness Formula and her influence can be found throughout the gym. Modified, effective, and efficient workouts are the foundation of Kelli’s workout philosophy.
Kelli grew up as a very active child and young adult. As a child she loved the outdoors, camping, floating, and hiking through the woods near her home in Rolla, Mo. Though she does not openly admit it, she had quite a career as a competitive clogger. Growing up she was involved in gymnastics, basketball, track and field, and cross-country. It was during these activities, as well as, a tumble down a ski slope that Kelli obtained several sports-related injuries that sent her to physical therapy multiple times. With these experiences she began to wonder if there was a way to prevent these types of injuries and there began her love of the body and preventative exercise.
Currently, Kelli enjoys working with clients of all fitness levels, from those who are new to fitness to those looking to improve their sport or recreation activities, however, she feels a special niche with those transitioning from everyday life or a recently recovered injury to a more active and fit lifestyle.
Kelli worked as a physical therapist for two years in an outpatient setting and more recently ended her job as a homecare physical therapist at SSM Health at Home to work with her husband at The Fitness Formula.
